About Bob's Carpet And Flooring

Bob originally started Bob’s Carpet in 1981.  He was only doing installs of Carpeting.  Working out of his van, he would sell and install carpets.   Things started growing more and more and in 1994 Bob opened up his first store front location in the Old Manahawkin Flea Market.   He would install during the week and on weekends be at the Flea Market showing samples and selling area rugs.   His Wife Anna would be there on Fridays and sometimes during the weekends to help out.

As his Oldest son Chris grew up, he would start helping his father during the summers installing carpeting and help doing sales at the Manahawkin Mart when he wasn’t in school.

Things continued to grow and in 2000 they opened up their second location in Barnegat which became the an actual warehouse space to run the business better and another small store front.   During this time, Bob got more into hard surface goods such as Hardwood and Laminate flooring.  These were the busiest times for the company as we had 2 to 3 crews going out daily installing carpet or hardwood.

As things continued to grow, Bob’s Carpet needed a bigger show room and warehouse so they moved to their current location at 325 Route 9 South, Barnegat.   They still had the Flea Market going until 2008 when the unfortunate accident happened and the Flea Market burnt down.   The flea market was never the same again as it has been rebuilt but lost its old charm.

Bob’s Carpet has always been family owned and operated with Bob owning it up until he passed away in 2016,  His son Chris now runs the business with the help of his mother Anna.   He plans to keep his father’s name going strong and proving he can do this too.
